On 13th December, 2024, CUB EEE Department of Canadian University of Bangladesh organized a Fresher’s Reception program for Fall 2024 intake students. Honorable Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Dr. H. M. Jahirul Haque, Honorable Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees of Canadian University of Bangladesh Chowdhury Jafarullah Sharafat adorned the program as Chief Guest, Honorable Vice Chancellor of Canadian University of Bangladesh Professor Dr. HM Jahirul Haque, Special guest Engr. Sheikh Rafat Bin Ali (CEO and Founder of Ulterior Engineering Intl.), Special Guest Mr. Erfan Uddin, Chief Business Development Officer of Ulterior Engineering as honorable distinguished guests, all full and part time faculty members of the EEE department along with fresher students of batch Fall 24, members of club Electro attended the program.
The program started with inauguration speech by honorable VC, CUB Professor Professor Dr. H. M. Jahirul Haque sir with his motivational speech towards our new students regarding the opportunities of EEE graduates to shape the new Bangladesh. He also emphasized the students to work harder for success and aim to complete higher studies at abroad.
Special guest Mr. Erfan Uddin discussed about the secrets of success and things to focus from undergraduate level so that our students can secure good positions in modern job market as soon as they graduate.
Special distinguished guest Mr. Sheikh Rafat Bin Ali then had a meaningful, interactive session with our students. He discussed about the demanding fields of EEE and how to take preparation from now on so that our EEE graduates dont need to struggle for staring smoothly in their respective career. He also motivated our students regarding the importance of different skills in job sectors and how to overcome the barrier of maintaining good CGPA. He also stated the significance of industry academica collaboration.
Finally, our chief guest and center of attraction Chowdhury Jarafullah Sharafat Sir gave his inspirational speech towards our freshmen students. He also addressed several issues raised by our students and gave his words to address those asap. He told an inspirational story of Bangladesh national cricket team during 1997 ICC championship trophy and asked our students to adhere to the courage and resilience shown by the team.
After the inspirational speeches from the pioneers of our university and industry, the department officially welcomed our fresher’s students of Fall 2024 by presenting them with flowers by our honorable Vice Chairman Sir and distinguished special guests. Token of appreciation were presented to our special guests by our honorable Vice Chairman Sir and also our Vice Chairman sir were presented with a small crest by the department at the end.
Finally, Head of the department, Dr. Ifat Al Baqee concluded the program with his vote of thanks to all the honorable guests, volunteers from EEE club. HOD, EEE presided the program overall. Finally our students get the chance to make some memory with our honorable Vice Chairman sir and our distinguished guests.
